The Maui Satellite campus of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Job Corps is offering immediate openings and free career training for 16-to-24-year-olds from low-income households.
The Job Corps has two campuses on Maui and Oahu that offer career skills training in high-growth industry sectors, including automotive and machine repair, construction, finance and business, health care, homeland security, hospitality, and renewable resources and energy, according to a news release.
Job Corps is free for those ages 16-24 from low-income households who meet eligibility requirements, and students can apply and enroll at any time. In addition to career training, the Job Corps also offers on-campus housing, meals, health care and job search assistance.
Applicants may qualify if they receive benefits such as SNAP, TANF or free or reduced school lunch; if they are experiencing homelessness; or if they are a foster youth. The program offers expedited enrollment for age-eligible young adults who are homeless.
The Maui Job Corps Center is located at 500 Ike Dr. in Makawao.
